Ouch!

So, it rained quite a bit yesterday, but I still managed to get myself out of the house a couple times when he sun peeked through. I explored the neighborhood that I'm currently living in while Sam and Travis were at work. With no wheels, it's a bit difficult to see more than my emmediate surroundings. Houses aren't sitting neatly side by side on squared off lots like in Canada. What you think is one driveway, will actually lead you to two or more houses tucked back into the trees. It's a child's exploration heaven!

Now, along with all of these interesting nooks to discover come hills, and hills, and more hills. when I walked out of my door yesterday morning, I chose to start by going downhill from home (because I'd only been that way once, and it was in the car). I got to the end of the road and was slightly dissapointed because I couldn't find a way down the lake from where I came out. (Sam has since informed me that there is a way, but it's difficult to find. I'll find it next time) So I turned around and headed home. UPHILL ALL THE WAY BABY!!! Now this morning, I'm sitting here writing this to you, and I can hardly move a muscle in my legs (or butt) without wincing. I stretched when I got back, I swear! Ah, I'm SO sore!

Lee, who is one of Sam and Travis' flatmates, told me that there is a beautiful hike that I can access from the house here, tat runs along the ridge overlooking the lake. I'm very excited to try that next time I'm stranded here with no way of getting into town. Technically, I guess that would be this morning, but I think my muscles need a bit of a break.

Sam and Travis are having a BBQ tomorrow night. Perfect opportunity for me to meet new people, and hopefully establish some new friendships.

That's all fo rnow folks!

Keep working those legs girl, they will loosen up. Snow, cold and more snow here. I love the blog idea. Have fun at the BBQ.
