Oi! Everybody! Here I am, sitting in Sam and Travis' living room, looking out the patio window at a view similar to what you would find if you were in Cadomin, or Jasper. The mountains aren't as large, and there is no snow to be seen, even at the tops. AND, get this... the mountains of Mordor are just across the bay. CRAZY! Other than the accents, I feel like I'm in a tourist town in the rockies. Hasn't quite set in yet (Other than the abnormally long trip here) that I'm actually in a completely different country.

I had nightmares about traveling last night. It involved having to fly four days straight, back and forth between NZ and Canada, every two weeks for three months! I was so excited to wake up in New Zealand this morning, because I was convinced that I was in Canada and had to make that aweful trip all over again in two weeks. Blah.

I've found it a little interesting to find that people aren't as friendly at first that I thought they would be. Sam says that it's because our accents are too similar to the Americans. Goal: smile more :)

I will begin driving lessons soon. Hopefully today or tomorrow. My teacher is almost one year, left side of the road driver, veteran... SAMANTHA! dun dun dun DUNNNNNNN! Watch out NZ motorists! Deanna is on the road!

Stay tuned!

  1. Enjoy the warm weather there. Have fun driving on the wrong side of the road. We met a family from Australia at Church on Sunday. They are here for a year on an exchange program. Oh, if wasn't a dream you had, you do have to come home in two weeks....

    Love Mom
