Yay! Ladies and gentlemen, we have lift off! This is the first place I've found in a while that has free wireless internet! Which means, I am now writing to you! Aren't you excited?! So, I don't really remember off the top of my head everyting that I've done since I last posted. But ere's an attempt.
Rachelle and I travelled up the west coast of the south island (we are now on the north island) towards Picton where we would catch the ferry to Wellington. (Apparently it's the fifth most dangerous ferry crossing in the world, but don't worry mom, it was very uneventful... I even got ripped of in the caffeteria $12.50 for fake eggs, gross beans, and canned tomatoe on very gristlie bacon. Lol the food experience in this country is less than satisfactory, but more on that later.)
So, when we reached Franz Joseph glacier we were accosted (okay, okay... asked politely) by these two guys in the parkinglot, "Do you know where the nearest ATM is?" Nope. Try to walk away. "Well, do you know where there is a free campsite?" Nope. Man! These guys are persistent! Must be our feminine charm. OKay, I'll get my camp guide and we'll have a look. Neadless to say, we spent the next week and a half, almost, with Eduard (Holland) and Simon (Germany) Super nice guys! We parted ways at the ferry. :(
Now, I do have more stories to tell about our adventures with and without the guys, but unfortunately, even though this is free wireless, I now have to check out of my hostel. :( :( More on this later.
